The Mark IV 22/45 250th Anniversary gets praised for the same things the broader Mark IV line is known for: a clean trigger and the one-button takedown that made the Mark IV such an improvement over earlier generations. Owners of the anniversary edition add that the fit and finish feels a step above the standard production models.

At the range the 4.4-inch bull barrel keeps the pistol steady and the .22 LR chambering makes extended sessions easy on the budget. A few owners note the pistol runs better with higher-velocity ammunition, which is a common note across the Mark IV family rather than anything specific to this edition.

Value opinions are mixed. The premium over a standard Mark IV 22/45 is noticeable, and whether the anniversary designation justifies it depends on the buyer. Those who collect Ruger commemoratives tend to be satisfied; buyers primarily focused on a range gun sometimes feel the base model achieves the same result at lower cost.
