The Savage Axis 2 XP is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 350 Legend, built on an 18-inch threaded carbon steel barrel with a gray synthetic stock. It ships with a factory-mounted 3-9x40mm Duplex scope on its drilled and tapped receiver, feeding from a detachable box magazine with 4+1 capacity. The rifle uses Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger and a two-position safety, and this configuration is set up for right-handed shooters.

Owners of the Savage Axis line generally describe the rifle as a dependable, no-frills bolt gun that shoots better than its price suggests. The AccuTrigger draws consistent praise for breaking cleanly compared to other budget rifles, and the action is usually reported as smooth after a short break-in period. A few owners note the factory synthetic stock feels hollow or flexes under a tight cheek weld.

Fit and handling get mixed but generally positive marks: the 350 Legend chambering makes the Axis 2 XP an easy rifle to carry in the field, and the threaded barrel adds flexibility for a muzzle brake or suppressor. Some shooters find the factory scope combo adequate for close to mid-range work but plan to upgrade the glass eventually.

On value, the Axis 2 XP is frequently mentioned as a solid entry point into bolt-action rifles, especially for hunters who want a scoped, ready-to-hunt package without buying optics separately. Aftermarket stock and trigger options exist for the Axis platform, and owners who want to upgrade later generally find parts easy to source.
